Tree Surgery

The Cheshire Tree Company has an extensive range of services available to domestic customers. Operating from just outside of Chester, we work across the whole of Cheshire and surrounding counties.

Sectional Dismantling

When a tree is in an area where traditional felling from the ground is not possible, the tree will have to be climbed with ropes and a harness and be removed in manageable sections. Sections can be rigged down safely to avoid any dangers that may be underneath the tree. The Cheshire Tree Company offer a complete removal service, including grinding out the stump if that is required.

Traditional Felling

The safest way to remove a tree is to fell it from the ground. Providing the area around the tree allows it, The Cheshire Tree Company will use the correct felling technique to safely get the tree to the ground, and then dismantle and remove the remaining brash and logs.

Crown Lifting

Crown lifting is the removal of the lowermost branches from the crown. The removal of these branches increases the amount of sunlight reaching immediate areas near the tree and improves access around it. We perform crown lifting to specified heights above ground level, and never remove large branches directly from the trunk.

Crown Thinning

This type of tree surgery targets tertiary branches in the outer crown. Removing these branches creates a uniform density of foliage across the branch structure without altering the overall shape or size of the tree. This process reduces weight and wind resistance, and it increases the amount of natural light passing through the crown.

Crown Reduction

Reduction work controls the spread and the height of a crown to reduce the load placed on branches. It also shapes the tree to suit its environment. We will always retain the crown’s natural framework and outline, albeit in a smaller form.

Tree Pollarding

Pollarding is a pruning technique that involves removing the upper branches of a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches. This is usually done annually, but would need to be done every few years to avoid potential problems.

Deadwood Removal

This process is to remove dead stems, branches and limbs from the tree from segments that present a risk to people and property. Deadwood provides a natural habitat for many different types of wildlife. We will leave any that are in no danger, to fall naturally to the ground.

Hedge Trimming

We understand how time consuming the hedge maintenance process can be. With commitments taking up time in the busy schedule of the modern person, it can be hard to find the time to maintain those hedges. Here at The Cheshire Tree Company, we offer a complete hedge trimming process in Cheshire and the surrounding counties.

Hedge Removal and Planting

Sometimes those hedges become so overgrown and uncared for that they are a lost cause and will need removing and replacing. The Cheshire Tree Company offer a complete removal service including grinding out the old stumps. If a new hedge is to replace the old one, we can source the new plants and plant the new hedgerow for you. We also offer fence installations too if that's what you prefer.

There becomes a point where a standard trim just isn't enough to get that crisp straight edge that most people are looking for. The Cheshire Tree Company are able to re-shape your hedges into a more desirable shape and size.
